This is a woodshop safety check for members who would like to use the: Tablesaw, Miter Saw, Benchtop Bandsaw, Drill Press, and Bench Top Sanders

Description

Woodshop 201 is the more indepth version of our "Safety Check" courses.  For true beginner to advanced user, this event will go into greater detail about how and when you should use the: 

Dewalt Planer

Craftsmen Jointer

Laguna Bandsaw

Table Saw Truing Jig

For the lumber dimensioning and milling process. During the class, members will have the chance to ask questions, demonstrate the safe hands-on use of each of these tools, and at the end be checked off to use these tools.

This class is open to members 14+ years of age. Minors attending this class must be accompanied by an adult parent/guardian for the duration of the course. 

In order to attend this event YOU MUST REGISTER, we are unable to accomodate walk-ins at this time. 

Due to the pandemic, we are a bit behind in training members on the safe use of tools and equipment.  For the time being this course is only open to paying members of Decatur Makers, and you must be logged into your CRM account in order to register for this event. 

We apologize for the inconvenience and we plan on making this course available to the general public, as soon as we are caught up training members. 

Max Number of students = 5

Required Clothes:
= Closed toed boots/shoes
= Long pants and short sleeves or long sleeves that can be rolled up
= Long hair must be tied back

Michael Lutin - is one of our Woodshop Area Stewards and a skilled woodworker. You can often find him around the Space helping folks and creating beautiful cutting boards.
