Decatur Makers 101 - New Member Orientation

This orientation is open to new members of the Decatur Makers makerspace. (For more info on our membership, click here.) It serves as a general introduction for our newest members, covering essential topics such as policies, safety, rules, culture, tools, and a Q&A session.

To ensure you’re fully prepared for the big day, please complete the following essential steps:

1. Sign the Digital Liability Waiver and Conduct Agreement: Click here for form.
2. Read the Member Handbook: Click here for the handbook and make note of any questions.
3. Youth Members: If you're under 18, complete the  Youth Membership Agreement with a parent or guardian.
4. Plan Your Safety Training: Check out the Event Calendar for upcoming equipment safety training classes and sign up for mandatory sessions.

• Come ready with questions! We'll help ensure your forms are signed, give you a tour of the space, go over the highlights of onboarding, and—most importantly—answer all your questions.

During the orientation, new members will also receive their RFID access fob, provided all onboarding tasks have been completed. Prepare today and start making with confidence!
