The Common Threads Textile Arts Group offers a collaborative environment for individuals interested in various fiber and fabric crafts, including sewing, quilting, leatherworking, knitting, crocheting, weaving, screen-printing, and fabric-dyeing. Under the guidance of the textile-arts area steward, the group provides members with essential tools, supplies, and learning opportunities.

Meetings are held on the 2nd Saturday of each month at 10:00 AM, focusing on planning, establishing guidelines, organizing classes, maintaining equipment, and assessing member interests. These meetings are not crafting sessions but are open to anyone interested in contributing to the group's activities.

Throughout the year, the group offers demonstrations and classes on a wide range of topics. Members are encouraged to check the Decatur Makers calendar and weekly emails for updates. If there's a particular skill you're interested in, you're welcome to suggest it or even teach a class. The group's Slack channels (#textiles, #leather, #textile-meetup) are also available for quick questions or discussions.
