In my class, you'll learn everything you need to know to create your own custom pens from start to finish. From selecting the perfect wood blanks to mastering the lathe and applying flawless finishes, each step will be carefully explained and demonstrated. Whether you're a seasoned woodworker or a complete novice eager to explore the world of turning, this class is designed to accommodate all skill levels. With the right guidance and encouragement, anyone can discover the joy of crafting handmade pens that are both beautiful and functional. As a member of Decatur Makers for over 5 years, I've enjoyed learning from other members and I'm committed to fostering the same supportive and collaborative learning environment as an instructor. As we work together, you'll have plenty of opportunities to ask questions, share ideas, and get advice from the talented and creative people in the space as you venture independently after the class. By the end of the class, you'll walk away with more than the knowledge to create your own custom pen, you'll also have gained invaluable knowledge, skills, and confidence to continue exploring your creativity in the world of woodworking.
