No registration required.

Description

All members must take this in order to gain access to the woodshop.  This will cover operation of the air filters, dust collection system, table saw, and chop saw.  It will also include safety training focused on the fire extinguishers, first aid kit, and bleed control kit.  Lastly, the orientation will provide clear expectations of shop etiquette and clean up, as well as where to find the tools to complete this properly.  In short, this training covers the basics of working in the Decatur Makers woodshop as well as the two most sought after tools in the woodshop.  Woodshop Orientation will run directly after New Member Orientation.

During the class, members will have the chance to ask questions, demonstrate the safe hands-on use of each of these tools, and at the end be checked off to use these tools.

This class is open to members 14+ years of age. Minors attending this class must be accompanied by an adult parent/guardian for the duration of the course.
