Woodshop 101 - Intro to Woodworking

11/06/2023 06:00 PM - 08:00 PM ET

  • Free

Our woodshop is full of great equipment and tools! This class will safely introduce people to the proper way to handle and use our table saw, miter saw, band saw, drill press, and bench top sanders. You'll get hands-on and will also learn ways to use this equipment to make your projects.

Woodshop 101 is the more indepth version of our "Safety Check" courses, best suited to Beginners. If you are brand new or relatively new to woodworking, this event will go into greater detail about how and when you should use the:

Small Benchtop Bandsaw

Drill Press

Benchtop Sanders

During the class, members will have the chance to ask questions, demonstrate the safe hands-on use of each of these tools, and at the end be checked off to use these tools.

This class is open to members 14+ years of age. Minors attending this class must be accompanied by an adult parent/guardian for the duration of the course.

Due to the pandemic, we are a bit behind in training members on the safe use of tools and equipment.  For the time being this course is only open to paying members of Decatur Makers, and you must be logged into your CRM account in order to register for this event.
