Description

The class will serve as a preview for further leather smithing classes and provide people with a 3-6” piece of 4-8 Oz leather canvas to carve and create a small item of their choosing. The skills introduced and illustrated in this class will be basic stitch guide creation and saddle stitch connection, edge burnishing, leather gluing, pattern making, tooling, some coloring or dyeing, and butting/snap/rivet insertion. The hand smithing aspect will be the key to this class, as it will instill a sense of craft legacy that is still widely used for hundreds of years. Come out and make something cool and beautiful out of this versatile material!
