Basics of Speaker Design: Part 1

Back by popular demand, Bill and Chris's Basics of Speaker Design Class, V7.0!  This is the seventh time we've done this, 70 graduates and over 140 speakers built!

Learn what it takes to design and build your own speakers then build a pair of your very own to take home. This is a two part, two day class. On day one we start with a classroom session on speaker design and construction. In the class we will learn about sound, how we hear it, how it propagates and what it takes to generate "good" sound. We'll learn about the various components that go into a speaker, how they work, how to select them and how to design the right enclosure to create that great sounding system. At the end of the class we'll glue up our enclosures in preparation for the second night where we assemble the components, finish the speakers and check them out with some Pink Floyd!

The class runs over a two night stretch, 7-9pm each night, Thursday September 21st and Friday the 22nd. The cost for the class is $60 which covers the cost of the speaker components. If you want to see and hear what you'll be making, drop by the eshop and give them a listen!

Maximum 12 students.

This class is open to all makers, minors must be accompanied by an adult parent or guardian for the duration of the class.
