AI & Ethics Workshop for Kids

Dates: Thursday June 29th and Friday June 30th  (Participation on both days is required.)

Time: 10am-1pm

Looking for children aged 10-12 for workshops on AI and fairness. We will introduce what AI is, applications of AI, creative activities for imagining future AI, and discuss how AI can be fair.

This event is free. All materials for design and making activities are provided.  There is one snack break each day.

Each group meets twice and participation on both days is mandatory!

This is a collaboration between Decatur Makers, Georgia Tech, and University of Oulu, Finland.

In addition to registration and completing the Decatur Maker's Liability Waive, please print, sign, and bring to class this Parental Permission Form


Please note: The workshop is part of a research project studying how to best support critical AI literacy for children and teachers. During the workshop, audio, video, and other kinds of data are collected. The data are anonymized and analyzed for research reporting and publications, following US and European research guidelines. This study has Georgia Tech IRB approved Protocol H22327 "PAIZ: Participatory AI with Schoolchildren".
