Metal Lathe 101

REGISTRATION NOTE: This is a training class for members only. The first two students who show up for this class will be in! There is no need to sign up on-line.

Metal Lathe 101 will provide you with the opportunity to gain some hands-on experience operating our Grizzly 4000 hobby lathe.

The class project is to make a scribe for marking metal. We will review the materials you watched in the preparatory videos including safety, tooling, facing, turning & drilling. You will also make internal and external threads using taps and dies. Eye protection is available or bring your own. Please wear appropriate clothing including closed toed shoes.

This class is open to members 14+ years of age. Minors attending this class must be accompanied by an adult parent/guardian for the duration of the course.
